Job summary

The Florida Department of Health seeks a highly capable professional to manage contractor applications for the Child Care Food Program. The role involves evaluating contractor eligibility, providing technical guidance, and training staff and contractors in compliance with federal and state regulations.

The incumbent will work at the central office, perform time-sensitive program duties, and may require travel to present information to contractors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations.
• Knowledge of daily operations of a childcare center or day care home.
• Knowledge of child nutrition.
• Methods of compiling and analyzing data.
• Correct grammar usage.

Responsibilities

• Develops, evaluates, and approves or denies prospective and renewing contractor applications.
• Evaluates and approves or denies additions and terminations of facilities participating under a sponsoring organization.
• Writes and revises contractor procedure manuals and other program guidance materials.
• Provides technical assistance, consultation, training and guidance regarding program regulations, policies, and procedures to prospective and participating contractors.
• Develops training materials for staff and contractors and conducts local and statewide training sessions.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
