Job summary

National Life Group in Montpelier, VT, seeks a contracts and licensing specialist to ensure accurate processing of contracts, amendments and appointments in line with state and federal licensing rules. The role provides customer-service oriented contracting support to distributors and associates while backing the company's growth and expense management initiatives.

This onsite role requires you to be in the office four days per week on core days (Mon-Thu), with schedule changes possible by

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in a home or field office, preferably in insurance or regulated financial services.
• High School Diploma; college degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; mainframe processing; dual monitors.
• LOMA courses or related life insurance training preferred.
• Ability to meet deadlines; ability to work independently as well as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates prospective agents' qualifications through background checks and licensing reviews.
• Coordinates with Recruiters, Marketing, GA’s, MGA’s, Office Managers and management for support letters and releases.
• Governs issuance of new business and payments of commissions until agents are licensed and contracted.
• Interprets state insurance regulatory requirements to ensure compliance by agents.
• Assesses agents' prior history to determine rehiring or transfer eligibility.
• Reviews vendor reports to detect regulatory risk on current agents.
• Notifies field force of changes in licensing regulations and deadlines.
• Ensures systems reflect licensing status and commissions accurately.
