Job summary

Williams College is seeking a Contracting Specialist to help build a centralized contracting program on the Williams College campus. This inaugural role will collaborate with departments to create streamlined processes, draft contracts, and manage procurement documentation.

The position emphasizes training faculty and staff, maintaining contracts, and selecting best-value bids while leveraging Workday for processing.

Qualifications

  • Five+ years of contract administration experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Experience independently drafting and editing contracts and modifying boilerplate terms.
  • Experience guiding stakeholders to define needs, score bids, and convert winning bids into contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse campus stakeholders.
  • Experience learning new software and navigating evolving digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departments to map current contracting processes.
  • Prepare RFP documentation, track bids, and present options to departments.
  • Assist departments in selecting final bids and answering questions about bids.
  • Develop and maintain a database of current and former contracts.
  • Create and deliver training on contract management processes and policy.
