Job summary

Sweetwater Care in California is seeking an LVN nurse manager to oversee nursing services and ensure care aligns with standards of practice, physician orders, and facility policies.

You will administer medications and treatments timely, participate in quality improvement, and coordinate with physicians as needed. Prior nursing management experience and SNF/LTC setting exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN in California.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred.
• SNF/LTC setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Infection Control Manual.
• Participates in Quality Improvement Program implementation.
• Utilizes Quality Life Manual for patient program placement and monitoring.
• Notifies departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, admits, discharge).
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Administers medications timely and per facility policy.
• Administers treatments timely and per facility policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and executes physician orders when allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Job description

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.
