Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 74 lbs, English reading/writing, basic math, forklift experience, and passing a proficiency test. Training on the 1st shift may precede the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 74 lbs repeatedly.
• Prior experience in a Mix Operator role.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend documents in English.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• Pass a proficiency test testing reading comprehension and math ability.
• Plant experience with batching/packaging is a plus.
• Trade school certification in electronics or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing and/or packaging lines to maximize production quantity and quality.
• Clean mixing vessels as needed.
• Tend systems processing chemical substances into products such as sealants, adhesives, primers, and intermediates.
• Load solid and liquid materials into vessels or blending tanks.
• Set controls and operate valves to feed materials or start sequences.
• Monitor gauges, signals and recorders; adjust operations as needed.
• Draw samples for quality control analysis.
• Package, palletize, shrink-wrap, and stage products using a forklift.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and work areas.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and maintain good housekeeping.
