Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for a contract-to-hire role based in Florence, KY. You will perform basic, standardized mechanical assembly using hand and power tools in a clean, climate-controlled environment, following detailed instructions and reporting production counts.

This onsite position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork. The role requires the ability to lift up to 35 lbs, attention to quality standards, and the discipline to work under close supervision

Qualifications

• Follow detailed verbal and written instructions consistently and accurately.
• Experience performing basic mechanical assembly operations in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.
• Ability to use scanners and basic equipment to support assembly and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of parts and assemblies.
• Capability to lift up to 35 lbs as part of regular job duties.
• Ability to work effectively under direct, close supervision and as part of a production team.
• Compliance-oriented mindset with willingness to follow safety and security procedures.
• Degree required (education level as specified by the employer).

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed verbal and written instructions to complete assigned assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Perform basic, standardized, and repetitive mechanical assembly operations on components, assemblies, and subassemblies.
• Manually assemble inserted components using visual aids and verify specifications before and after assembly.
• Inspect parts and assemblies to confirm that all work meets required quality standards and specifications.
• Apply labels and identification markings to components, assemblies, or subassemblies as directed.
• Use scanners, hand tools, and other basic equipment to support the assembly process.
• Accurately report completed assemblies and production counts in the required systems or logs.
• Work under the direct, close supervision of a Manufacturing Supervisor, Line Manager, or other assigned management personnel.
• Follow all safety rules, guidelines, and regulations at all times while performing job duties.
• Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse and manufacturing environment.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production and operations.
