Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract-to-hire role in San Diego, CA, focused on support of engineering and production teams in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot challenges, create and maintain work instructions, and execute engineering tests to ensure product quality.

The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude, ability to read drawings, and experience analyzing production data in Excel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree, technical certification, or related education preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, or medical device environments preferred.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated job stability and interest in long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and production teams in sustaining and improving manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related challenges.
• Create, revise, and maintain work instructions and process documentation.
• Execute engineering tests and document results.
• Inspect and review in-process products to verify quality requirements are met.
• Assist with the evaluation and disposition of non-conforming material.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D and 5 Why methodologies.
• Take ownership of small engineering projects under the direction of engineering staff.
• Train and support manufacturing operators on production processes.
• Audit and verify operator work for process compliance.
• Collect and analyze manufacturing data to support process improvements.
