Job summary

Great American Insurance Group in Orange, CA, is hiring a Contract Surety Underwriting Manager to lead risk selection, pricing, and underwriting within our Bond division. This role combines in-office work with travel across the assigned territory.

You will build client relationships, ensure compliance with guidelines, and mentor staff as needed. A Bachelor's in Finance or Accounting with 7+ years' experience is expected, with professional certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of underwriting experience or related field.
• Progress toward professional certifications preferred (AFSB, CPA, RPLU).
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Experience in surety or bonds is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk selection, pricing, and terms within authority.
• Maintain high level of customer service and provider relationships.
• Analyze submissions and determine terms (limits, deductibles, options).
• Mentor staff and guide talent development.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting rules and laws.
