Great American Insurance Group’s Detroit office is seeking a Contract Surety Underwriter to evaluate risks, review financial statements and credit reports, and support bonding needs. This role involves in-office work and travel within the assigned territory to meet client and business needs.

Understand and analyze reports utilized in the underwriting processes, including financial statements, job schedules, bank agreements, and credit reports. Assess risk quality in compliance with company’s best practices. Develop and maintain strategic relationships, both internally and externally. Communicate effectively. Be highly organized to handle a variety of responsibilities. Deliver exceptional customer service. Make timely, informed decisions. Operate with integrity and honesty. Hold themself accountable for achieving established objectives. Use independent judgment and initiative to support business goals. Stays updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Field of Study: Finance, Accounting or a related discipline Experience: 3+ years of related experience is desired. Business Unit: Bond
