Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Staff Accountant on a contract basis in Marietta, GA for approximately six months. This is a hands-on role in a large, structured corporate accounting environment, focused on the integrity of the books and day-to-day GL activities.

You will post journal entries, perform reconciliations, support month-end close, prepare reports, and assist with audits. Candidates should have 2–4 years of GL experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-4 years of general ledger accounting experience.
• Hands-on journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working in a large ERP environment.
• Able to work independently and manage competing priorities against close deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries across accounts and entities.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review financial data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany activity.
• Research and resolve reconciling items and unexplained variances.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for assigned accounts.
• Assist with fixed asset and other subledger reconciliations as needed.
• Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules for management review.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Identify and contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support ad hoc accounting projects as assigned.
