Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Staff Accountant for a 6-month contract in Marietta, GA. This onsite role focuses on cash and bank reconciliations within a large corporate accounting environment.

You will own reconciliation activity across a portfolio of cash accounts and drive accuracy in daily, weekly, and monthly close processes. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, strong Excel capabilities, and a collaborative approach across Treasury, AR and Billing to resolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Direct experience owning cash or bank reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of the general ledger and cash flow.
• Comfortable preparing and researching journal entries tied to cash activity.
• Experience closing books and supporting period-end reconciliation processes.
• Strong Excel skills – pivot tables, large data sets, high transaction volumes.
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset and cross-department collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own reconciliation activity across a large portfolio of cash and bank accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Investigate and clear open items including unposted transactions, timing gaps, unidentified cash, and unresolved variances.
• Navigate large volumes of transactional data in Excel to surface exceptions and inconsistencies that require follow-up.
• Follow discrepancies through the accounting cycle to identify where and why a break occurred — and see it through to resolution.
• Record journal entries and build supporting documentation tied to cash-related accounting activity.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across Treasury, billing, operations, and AR to clear outstanding items.
• Contribute to balance sheet close and period-end reconciliation activity.
• Keep reconciliation files audit-ready and organized at all times.
• Flag workflow inefficiencies and contribute to efforts to simplify and strengthen the reconciliation process.
