Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with Python to join a contract-based role in the Pennington area. The candidate will improve reliability, observability, and efficiency across scale, leveraging Python tooling, Linux expertise, and cloud-native platforms.

The role emphasizes automation, incident response leadership, and collaboration with engineering teams on platform modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Strong knowledge of Dynatrace, Ansible, and IaC is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience for tooling and automation.
• Deep Linux administration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Infrastructure engineering background with proven automation delivery.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management.
• Observability and monitoring experience, Dynatrace preferred.
• Experience operating large-scale production environments.
• Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS, with AKS or EKS strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of SRE, Reliability Engineering, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks.
• Domain experience in Financial Services or trading platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and operational health for core platform services and components.
• Design, implement, and maintain automation for infrastructure and operational workflows.
• Improve platform and application observability using modern monitoring and logging tools.
• Lead incident response, troubleshoot production issues, and drive post-incident remediation.
• Partner with core engineering teams on platform modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Harden production systems and evolve internal support tooling to reduce operational risk.
