Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a detail-oriented Contract Manager to oversee a diverse range of agreements, including clinical trial and research support contracts. Job description

*Manage a large volume of agreements, including outgoing subawards, confidentiality agreements, incoming foundation and industry awards, clinical trial agreements, clinical research support agreements, amendments, and data use agreements.

Responsibilities
  1. Draft outgoing subawards and clinical site agreements, incorporating terms and conditions from sponsors.
  2. Review and negotiate terms for templated incoming agreements, working with Agreement Associates and Team Managers for execution.
  3. Process standard agreements that do not require institutional signature.
  4. Coordinate international collaborator vetting regarding financial and conflict of interest policies.
  5. Respond to inquiries and communicate institutional policies and documentation requirements.
  6. Interface with sponsors, principal investigators, and support staff.
  7. Maintain electronic records of contract actions and statuses in compliance with policies.
  8. Create and update an electronic contract library using Insight, including statuses and documentation.
  9. Communicate throughout the contract lifecycle with investigators, administrators, sponsors, and agencies.
  10. Support processing of large-scale projects involving multiple agreements and clinical sites.
  11. Identify problematic language requiring negotiation or input from other offices.
  12. Assist in resolving issues related to agreements, such as budgeting and compliance.
  13. Prepare and circulate final documents for signature, uploading executed copies into Insight.
  14. Ensure timely contract execution and escalate stalled negotiations.
  15. Collaborate with team members to review and update processes and documentation.
  16. Generate reports to monitor workflow efficiency.
  17. Assist in training team members, such as Contract Specialists and Grant Administrators.
  18. Participate in special projects and assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred

Experience: 3-5 years in contracting, research administration, legal assistance/paralegal, or clinical research coordination. Law school or internships may substitute for experience.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
