Caterpillar Defense is seeking a Contract Specialist located in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will coordinate the preparation of new or more complex contract assignments and administer existing contracts to support the business.

What You Will Do :

• Review and draft contract terms and documents to ensure they reflect agreed requirements.
• Participate in customer negotiations.
• Provide guidance to business teams during contract negotiations to meet contract requirements.
• Conduct and communicate risk evaluations for assigned contract transactions to ensure company objectives are met.

What You Will Have :

• Risk Management : Basic understanding of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling organizational risks; ability to apply risk management knowledge to diverse situations. Able to identify major categories of business risks and describe key issues and benefits of risk management practices.
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail : Extensive experience understanding the importance of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high precision, evaluate and contribute to best practices, process large detailed information accurately, and employ quality assurance tools and techniques.
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Basic understanding of decision-making processes; ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions, recognize issues, and communicate effectively.
• Effective Communications : Working knowledge of communication concepts; ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas and information effectively, deliver helpful feedback, and avoid technical jargon when necessary.
• Managing Multiple Priorities : Working knowledge of self-management practices; ability to manage multiple objectives, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands, ensuring current work is completed according to priorities.

Basic Requirements :

• In-depth knowledge of FAR / DFAR and Salesforce.
• 5+ years of experience with government contracts (acquisition and/or execution).
• Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
