Job summary

GME Supply in Coppell, Texas is seeking a Contract Training Instructor – Construction & Industrial Safety to deliver classroom, hands-on, and virtual training to customers across construction, oil and gas, and general industrial markets. As a contractor, you'll prepare for assignments, set up activities, deliver accurate instruction, and complete required documentation.

Most courses are in person, lasting one to three days, with some virtual or shorter options.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching safety courses or leading instructor-led classes.
• Field experience in construction, oil and gas, or general industry is preferred.
• Competence in at least one safety subject is required; cross-subject expertise is a plus.
• Experience teaching adult learners and facilitating classroom and hands-on instruction is preferred.
• Safety credentials or industry designations are preferred but may vary by subject.
• Willingness to complete company course orientation and demonstrate competency before delivering courses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person and virtual safety training for construction, oil and gas, and general industrial customers.
• Teach courses such as fall protection, working at heights, confined-space entry, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, equipment-inspector courses, and related topics.
• Review curriculum, instructor guides, assessments, and assignment requirements before each class.
• Prepare classrooms, training equipment, and practical exercises per course requirements.
• Follow approved content and standards while incorporating experience and teaching style.
• Facilitate classroom discussions, hands-on exercises, knowledge assessments, and practical evaluations.
• Complete attendance, assessments, and post-course reporting in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the assigned company contact about class needs and documentation issues.
• Participate in course qualification, curriculum updates, and instructor standardization.
