Requires pediatric and geriatric experience and valid state phlebotomy certification. Experience with blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and data recording is essential. The role requires minimum 2 years of experience, high school diploma, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pediatrics and geriatrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures; explain venipuncture process to patients.
• Match laboratory requisitions to specimens and label, centrifuge, and freeze as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone inquiries and review laboratory results as needed.
