Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification required in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 5 years venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, and prepare specimens per test orders.
• Document maintenance data and update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Ensure accuracy of requisitions and labels.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity.
• Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA regulations.
