Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Phlebotomist in Saint Petersburg, FL, working Mon-Fri 6am-2:30pm on a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate patient information and specimen handling.

Responsibilities include observing safety guidelines, following physician orders, and maintaining quality standards. A valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience are required,

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge and aliquot specimens as required by test orders.
• Document and maintain accurate patient and specimen information.
• Ensure specimen integrity and proper packaging for transport.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
