Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a Phlebotomist in Glens Falls, NY. The role is a contract position with potential for permanent placement, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday shifts, and about a 3-month duration.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data recording, and ensuring proper transport of samples while complying with OSHA and DEP regulations. Requires state phlebotomy certification and 6 months of venipuncture experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Follow physician orders and correctly match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
• Attend annual department trainings and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Answer inquiries and communicate test results as needed.
