Henderson Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential to go permanent. The role covers Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, with early start around 6:30am and 5:30pm finish; typical shifts total 8 hours. Requires 2 years phlebotomy experience and a valid state certification; benefits available.

Formación

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; match orders to requisitions.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures; label and transport to maintain integrity.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
