Job summary

Unknown employer is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its clinical laboratory team on a contract basis with potential for permanent placement. Location is Spotsylvania, VA, with a full-time, on-site schedule from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, data recording, and handling, as well as ensuring OSHA and DEP compliance. Candidates must have a phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months venipuncture experience; high school diploma or GED

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required by state where employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens; operate centrifuge equipment.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.
• Update patient information and collect/store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures to patients clearly and courteously.
• Match requisition forms to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze as required.
• Package specimens for transport while maintaining temperature and container protocols.
