Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; matches requisition forms to tubes; ensures proper labeling and packaging for transport.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients; follow OSHA and DEP regulations; attend trainings; answer inquiries.
