Job summary

United Future is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Gahanna, OH. The position runs 830am-5pm on Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri and 830am-8pm on Thu, with an estimated duration of 3 to 4 months. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. Benefits are available.

The successful candidate will perform blood draws, labeling and processing of specimens, and ensure accurate documentation and transport of samples according to established procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience doing blood draws and handling specimens.
• Ability to label, centrifuge and store specimens per procedures.
• Clear explanation of venipuncture procedures to patients.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process to patients in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique with standard needles.
• Ensure orders are understood and matched to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures.
