Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC seeks a Phlebotomist for Castleton, NY, with primary duties including blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation and maintaining accurate patient data. The role requires careful adherence to procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; verify physician orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
