Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking an experienced Contract Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations during a period of growth. This hands-on leader will own end-to-end payroll processing in Workday for multi-state employees, ensure compliance, and partner with People, Finance, and Legal to keep payroll accurate and audit-ready.

The role requires 7+ years of payroll experience, deep Workday expertise, and a proven ability to manage payroll independently for 500+ employees across multiple

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership experience.
• Hands-on Workday payroll experience with configuration and reporting.
• Experience handling multi-state payroll for 500+ employees.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax law and FLSA.
• Cross-functional collaboration with People, Finance, and Legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end multi-state payroll processing in Workday.
• Configure and troubleshoot Workday payroll modules.
• Manage tax filings across jurisdictions.
• Lead payroll compliance and wage-hour regulations.
• Partner with People, Finance, Legal on payroll matters.
• Reconcile payroll GL entries and support month-end close.
• Prepare payroll reports, audits, and analytics.
• Serve as escalation point for payroll issues.
• Drive Workday optimizations to reduce manual work.
• Maintain SOX-compliant payroll controls.
• Stay updated on payroll law changes.
