Job summary

The Honest Company is seeking a Contract SEO/GEO Content Writer on a part-time basis for a two‑month engagement starting in October 2026. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience in SEO-focused content writing, content marketing, editorial strategy, or a related role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality digital content and measurable organic-search results.
• Demonstrated ability to implement on-page optimizations directly in a CMS.
• Working knowledge of keyword research, search intent, internal linking, metadata, structured content, and schema markup.
• Familiarity with generative AI platforms and how they retrieve, summarize, cite, and present information.
• Experience with Shopify and analytics tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, and Screaming Frog.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, edit, and optimize high-quality content across articles, landing pages, product pages, category pages, FAQs, guides, and other digital experiences.
• Translate business objectives, audience needs, and search insights into clear, useful, and persuasive content.
• Develop content briefs based on keyword research, audience intent, competitive analysis, search-result trends, and AI-generated formats.
• Maintain a consistent brand voice and adapt content for different audiences, channels, and stages of the customer journey.
• Refresh and consolidate existing content to improve relevance, accuracy, authority, and performance.
• Verify claims and incorporate reliable sources, subject-matter expertise, and original insights when appropriate.
• Structure content for readability and ensure optimization of page titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, image alt text, and anchors.
• Publish and update content directly within the company’s CMS and coordinate internal linking and schema markup.
• Monitor organic performance, AI referral traffic, rankings, CTR, and engagement to drive ongoing improvements.
