Job summary

Propio L.S. in Houston, TX is seeking qualified onsite contract interpreters to support patients and healthcare teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform consecutive in-person interpretation, adhere to client protocols, and uphold strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance across medical and related settings.

Applicants must have 1+ year interpreting experience, a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of interpreting experience.
• Submit updated Resume in English at time of Application.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Intermediate level computer skills.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Ability to provide documentation of updated vaccinations (TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDAP, Flu, Covid).
• Successful completion of a drug test and Background Check & Security Screen.
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provides consecutive in person, first-person interpretation.
• Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients.
• Follows all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and/or regulatory requirements or policies and standards.
• Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical employees.
• Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge, as required for various clients, such as medical, legal, social services, etc.
