Job summary

USP is seeking a Scientist II - Microbiology (Contract) to perform hands-on bench work in the Biologics Lab, conducting method verifications, validations, and related testing per USP microbiology chapters. You will document results, maintain GLP, and ensure accurate reporting of data and conclusions.

This individual contributor contract role requires a Master’s in Microbiology/Life Sciences and 3–6 years of relevant industrial QC experience, with strong communication, compliance, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Hands-on bench work in Microbiology area ensuring clear transcription of results
• Experience executing USP compendial microbiology tests and maintaining GLP compliance
• Strong documentation, data integrity, and attention to safety and ethics

Responsibilities

• Hands-on bench work in Microbiology area ensuring clear transcription of results.
• Plans daily work and records results to fulfill targets on time.
• Performs calibration of equipment and prepares media/reagents as required.
• Carries out microbiology testing under supervision and maintains project notebooks.
• Submits test and validation reports for review under supervision.
• Ensures safety, ethics, and regulatory compliance in all tasks.
• Supports cross-functional activities and assists Lab manager on projects.
