Job summary

SGS, the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company, is seeking a Microbiologist II to join our New Jersey team to conduct a variety of microbiology analyses and ensure studies comply with GMP/GLP/ISO and client specifications. The candidate will train staff and participate in SOP approvals.

Responsibilities include media prep, analyses per USP/EP/ASTM/AOAC/FDA, scheduling to meet deadlines, maintaining notebooks and LIMS, and upholding cGMP standards while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• BS degree in Microbiology or related sciences.
• 2-4+ years of experience in a regulated commercial lab environment.
• Thorough knowledge of scientific principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepares media and reagents required for the conduct of microbiological analyses.
• Conducts analyses of samples in accordance with USP, EP ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, or other procedures.
• Schedules analyses so that deadlines are met and analyses are thorough.
• Mentor and train new microbiologists as needed.
• Maintains orderly work area and documents activities in accordance with cGMP.
