Co-developed with global hospitals, Orva optimizes perioperative efficiency and enhances patient care by capturing and relaying critical perioperative milestones.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer/Designer to design a specialized enclosure for the miniDSP UMA-16 v2 microphone array for use in operating room environments. This project requires a balance of robust protection and acoustic integrity.

You will be responsible for the complete design lifecycle of the enclosure, from concept to delivery of production-ready files. This includes ensuring the enclosure protects the device, maintains acoustic performance, and meets the specific requirements of a hospital medical setting.

What You'll Do:

• Design, prototype (FDM), and validate a functional enclosure for the UMA-16 v2, ensuring it meets performance, environmental, and regulatory needs for operating room use.
• Key design considerations include impact/splash protection, USB connectivity with strain relief, secure mounting, 3D print optimization, and hospital-grade cleaning compatibility.
• Deliverables: CAD files, assembly documentation, print instructions, BOM, cost estimates, and a validation report.

What You'll Bring:

• Experience designing, prototyping, and validating functional and acoustically transparent enclosures.
• Ability to ensure the design meets all performance, environmental, and regulatory requirements for use in operating rooms.
• Comfortable with sourcing hardware, managing 3D prints, and conducting basic functional and performance validation, including verifying minimal acoustic impact.
