Job description

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to support our rapidly growing U.S. defense and government business. This role will be responsible for managing, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts with U.S. government agencies and defense customers, as well as other commercial customers, ensuring compliance with applicable federal regulations and company policies.

We’re looking for someone comfortable operating independently - an "army of one" per se - with experience navigating complex federal compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has experience with U.S. government contracting, including FAR, DFARS, and related regulatory requirements, and is comfortable partnering closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and program teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full lifecycle of commercial and U.S. government and defense-related contracts, including proposal support, contract negotiation, execution, administration, modification, and closeout
  • Review, negotiate, and interpret contract terms and conditions with customers including U.S. government agencies, prime contractors, and defense customers
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other applicable government regulations
  • Identify contractual risks and obligations, advise internal stakeholders, and recommend risk mitigation strategies and elevate non-compliant terms where mandated by policy
  • Support Sales and Business Development teams during proposal preparation, RFP/RFQ responses, and contract negotiations
  • Serve as a key point of contact for contractual matters with customers, partners, and internal teams
  • Monitor contract performance, deliverables, and compliance requirements throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Program Management, and Compliance teams on government-related issues such as audits, flow-down requirements, certifications, and reporting obligations
  • Stay current on changes to government contracting regulations and advise the business on potential impacts
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contracts management, with a strong focus on U.S. government and defense contracting
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience working with FAR, DFARS, and government contract flow‑down requirements
  • Experience supporting or negotiating contracts with U.S. federal agencies, defense primes, or subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and compliance obligations
  • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex contractual concepts to non‑legal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting international companies entering or expanding in the U.S. defense market
  • Familiarity with government audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inquiries
  • Experience working closely with Sales organizations and customer‑facing teams
  • Professional certification (e.g., NCMA/CPCM, CFCM, or similar) is a plus

The salary range for this exempt position is $140,000-$165,000 annually.

This is a remote U.S.-based position. May require occasional travel for customer

meetings, negotiations, or internal planning sessions.
