Job description

This position will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of a utility locating project. Hires, trains, and ensures all staff provide the highest quality of service while maintaining safety. Ensures the project remains within budget and provides exceptional customer service to clients.

Position will be reporting in Grand Forks, ND, relocation allowance will be provided for the successful candidate that is located outside of Grand Forks.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure proper training of all field staff and uphold safety standards. Take immediate steps to resolve any unsafe working conditions.
  2. Collaborate with office and field staff on route schedules, invoicing, errors, training, payroll, employee status changes, and other employee-related issues.
  3. Verify that all routes are completed, ensuring quality and timeliness. Schedule re-reads, shut-offs, and other special consideration customers as needed.
  4. Track daily completions, labor hours, etc. Run reports and supply production information as requested by Director, Corporate, or Customer.
  5. Perform staff management functions including monitoring and resolving on-the-job problems, setting performance standards, analyzing staffing levels, interviewing and selecting new employees, facilitating staff training, coaching, cross-training, mentoring, performing performance evaluations, resolving employee concerns, and conducting disciplinary actions with HR assistance.
  6. Maintain strong working relationships with customers, keeping them informed regularly. Work with the Regional Manager to introduce the client to Olameter Corporation's additional services and grow the business.
  7. Manage and maintain the project budget. Review operating costs, familiarize with project revenue projections and contracts.
  8. Keep records, track project performance, and produce reports as requested.
  9. Perform route-related project duties as needed if qualified.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm, with potential Saturday work.
  • Work remotely from the Grand Forks area.
  • Three (3) or more years' experience supervising/managing people and large-scale projects. Experience with remote/offsite projects is helpful. Two years' work experience in a utility-related environment such as meter installation, smart meter technology, utilities work, or similar is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required; company vehicle will be provided.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office and ability to retrieve and enter information into handheld devices or databases.
  • Ability to read, write, follow, and complete written instructions.
  • Ability to find locations/addresses by reading maps and using handheld devices.
  • Professional communication and interaction with customers.
  • Must pass Meter-Pro test.
  • Ability to walk routes, including stairs and unpaved/rough terrain.
