Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Contract Specialist II to support facility contract management at Denton/Terrell locations. You will work under the HSCS Regional Contract Manager, handling complex contract practices and ensuring compliance with policy, statutes, and CAPPS Financials integration.

Responsibilities include drafting statements of work, overseeing contract life-cycle from initiation through closeout, and guidance to facility Contract Managers/SMEs.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, contracting, or accounting.
• Requires Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification within 12 months of employment.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Writes well-defined statements of work and specifications for new contracts; ensures requisitions are entered into CAPPS Financials.
• Ensures adherence to state/federal rules, agency policy, and contract terms.
• Manages contracts from initiation to completion and close-out; monitors performance and documentation in SCOR and contract history.
