Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Lead Project Estimator for a 1-year contract (W-2) based in Juno Beach, FL, with some travel to project sites. You will lead detailed cost estimates, develop pricing models, and collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to capture project scope and quantify quantities.

You will mentor junior estimators, optimize costs, and present options to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in project estimating with conceptual engineering focus.
• Experience in utility-scale energy projects including renewable energy and transmission.
• Proficient in value engineering principles and practices.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials and equipment.
• Familiar with industry best practices in project estimating and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of detailed project cost estimates for new and existing projects.
• Develop pricing models and evaluate new technological innovations.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to gather documentation for estimates.
• Perform value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality.
• Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases and methodologies.
• Conduct risk assessments and contingency planning for uncertainties.
• Present cost estimates and options to senior management and clients.
• Mentor junior estimators and promote knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Track costs and variances and update estimates as scope or market changes.
