Job summary

SiXworks is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and deliver secure digital solutions in highly secure environments. You will join a team delivering critical operations for Defence and National Security missions, based in Somerset.

You will work with Cisco Nexus, NetApp ONTAP, Hyper-V, and VMware Cloud Foundation to create reliable, scalable infrastructure while enforcing strong security controls and data protection.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cisco Nexus and NetApp ONTAP in secure environments.
• Experience deploying Hyper-V in a high-availability, high-security configuration.
• Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Familiarity with hardware cryptographic systems (HSM/KMS).
• Experience with Windows Server 2022/2025.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deliver secure digital solutions in highly secure environments.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and delivery specialists on operations.
• Configure and harden network and storage components for performance and security.
• Assist in integration of a VMware private cloud and related infrastructure.
• Perform rack-and-stack, cabling, and adherence to strict security standards.
