Job summary

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking an OPS Government Operations Consultant II in Tallahassee to manage, negotiate, and oversee marine conservation contracts and grants. The role supports artificial reefs, restoration projects, partnerships, and program delivery.

The position requires knowledge of contract management, procurement rules, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including legal and grants staff. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/equivalent and two years of professional experience related to the duties and responsibilities provided herein.
• FCCN certification required or ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
• FCCM certification preferred or ability to obtain certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts related to marine conservation efforts including grants and service contracts.
• Ensure compliance with agency and division policies and funding requirements.
• Coordinate with leadership, legal counsel, grants, and procurement to align contracts with goals and timelines.
• Track deliverables, payments, reporting deadlines, and renewal dates using a contract management system.
• Monitor contractor/vendor compliance and review financial documentation for accuracy before payments.
