Job summary

Wesley Community Center in Houston seeks a GED Contract Substitute for onsite instruction at the Kashmere McCrane Library and Kashmere Multiservice Center. The contract involves a fluctuating schedule with cohorts lasting 6-8 weeks, 2-4 times a year.

You will teach adult learners using the provided curriculum, maintain attendance and progress records, and coordinate with the GED Instructor and Director of Financial Stability Programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Exceptional Adult Basic Education skills required to promote basic adult instruction.
• Excellent communication, organizational and classroom management skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction using the identified curriculum.
• Maintain student attendance records and monitor progress.
• Prepare submit and discuss progress reports as required by the agency.
• Possess computer skills and prepare student educational plans.
• Follow-up with clients in-person and via technologies.
• Enter data in Excel and database system(s).
• Lead program related presentations.
