Job summary

Wesley Community Center in Houston, TX seeks a GED Contract Substitute to deliver adult education sessions onsite at Kashmere facilities. The role is a contract substitute with a fluctuating schedule, spanning 6–8 weeks per cohort, several times a year.

Instructors work with the GED team and report progress and attendance data. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, strong adult ed skills, and excellent communication and classroom management abilities to support learners’ progress in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Excellent communication, organizational and classroom management skills are needed.
• Exceptional Adult Basic Education skills to promote basic adult instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction using the identified curriculum.
• Maintain student attendance records.
• Monitor student progress.
• Prepare, submit and discuss progress reports as required by the agency.
• Prepare student educational plans.
• Follow-up with clients in-person and via technologies.
• Enter data in Excel and database systems.
• Lead program related presentations.
