Job summary

Dow Jones is seeking an Associate, Event Security to support corporate events across the United States and internationally. The role is an ad-hoc security resource with hourly pay, reporting to the Manager of Event Security & Investigations.

Location is United States (West Coast preferred) with remote work and travel as required. You will help develop event security processes, perform structured risk assessments, and translate findings into action.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to travel and support events outside standard business hours.
• Knowledge or skills in law enforcement or security-related areas.
• Current first-aid certification including CPR/AED.
• Strong written and verbal communication to brief stakeholders and convey risk clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support development of event security processes and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments for corporate events and high-visibility functions.
• Translate risk findings into event-specific security plans.
• Partner with event leads to align protective measures with event profile.
• Perform advance site assessments and walkthroughs to identify gaps.
• Manage full event security lifecycle from planning to post-event reporting.
• Oversee contract security resources and ensure compliance with standards.
• Lead on-site briefings and coordinate with contract personnel.
• Direct security teams during events to ensure professional coverage.
• Act as on-site incident manager for security incidents or emergencies.
