Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital seeks a Counselor for MMG Behavioral Health Clinic on a contract basis. The counselor provides psychosocial evaluations, individual and family therapy across the age span using CBT, DBT, solution-focused and person-centered approaches.

Responsibilities include collaborating on plans of care, handling client calls, education, referrals to community resources, and other duties as assigned to support patient well-being and treatment progress.

Qualifications

• Licensed in the State of Louisiana as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW.
• Requires 20 hours of continuing education annually.
• Ability to communicate with client, family, peers and support personnel.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience; adaptable to change and decisive.
• Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Discuss treatment options and collaborate on plan of care.
• Handle client phone calls.
• Provide client education.
• Identify community health resources and refer clients as necessary.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
