Qualifications

• 5+ years of Professional Liability and/or Specialty or Financial Lines claims-handling experience.
• A JD from an ABA accredited law school may be considered as a supplement to claims handling experience
• Proven ability to positively affect complex claims outcomes through investigation and negotiation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Advanced knowledge of Professional Liability coverage principles and litigation processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced analytical skills
• B.A./B.S. degree required, JD optimal
• Must hold or be able to obtain adjuster licenses for jurisdictions covered

Responsibilities

• Adjusts and resolves complex, mid- to high-severity Professional Liability claims in all phases of litigation
• Drafts complex coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters
• Reviews and analyzes claim documentation and legal filings
• Drives litigation strategy and defense on litigated files
• Shares subject-matter expertise and supports team as needed
• Uses investigation, negotiation and ADR to affect positive outcomes
• Identifies emerging exposures and cross-line issues in Professional Liability portfolios
• Identifies suspected fraudulent claims and coordinates with SIU
• Documents claim files in compliance with policies and regulators
