Job summary

UC San Diego's Center for Healthy Eating and Activity Research in the Department of Pediatrics seeks a contract research assistant to screen participant eligibility, collect and enter data, ensure protocol compliance, and maintain accurate clinical research files under supervision.

The role involves coordinating with Principal Investigators, attending weekly meetings, assisting the regulatory team with safety reports, and supporting staff training. Evening shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Theoretical knowledge of social sciences, psychology, clinical sciences, nutrition, or public health.
• Experience performing clinical research duties in a clinical research environment.
• Experience using statistical software applications and MS Office.
• Experience providing in-service training to research personnel.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills to manage multiple demands and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience interacting with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Screen for participant eligibility and ensure protocol compliance.
• Data collection and entry; maintain complete clinical research files.
• Assist regulatory with Human Subjects safety reports.
• Coordinate with PIs, COIs, and project staff; attend weekly meetings.
