Job summary

Stratacuity is seeking a hands-on Senior Associate Scientist, Biochemistry (Contract) to support biochemical assays and protein production at our Cambridge, MA site. You will collaborate with biology, chemistry, and protein sciences teams to generate high-quality data that advances therapeutic discovery programs.

Responsibilities include executing assays (FP, TR-FRET, AlphaLISA, SPR, DSF), supporting screening, and expressing/purifying recombinant proteins.

Qualifications

• BS or MS with relevant industry experience in biochemistry or molecular biology.
• Hands-on experience with biochemical/biophysical assays in drug discovery.
• Experience with protein purification and characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with high-throughput screening workflows is a plus.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Senior Associate Scientist, Biochemistry (Contract)

Location: On-site (Cambridge MA)

Our Cambridge based biotechnology client is seeking a hands‑on scientist to support biochemical assay execution, compound screening, and recombinant protein production in a collaborative drug discovery environment. This role will partner closely with biology, chemistry, and protein sciences teams to generate high-quality data that supports therapeutic discovery programs.

Responsibilities

• Execute biochemical and biophysical assays, including FP, TR-FRET, AlphaLISA, SPR, DSF, and analytical SEC.
• Perform compound screening, data capture, QC analysis, and assay troubleshooting.
• Support assay development, optimization, reagent qualification, and workflow improvements.
• Express, purify, and characterize recombinant proteins using chromatography‑based methods.
• Conduct protein QC using SDS‑PAGE, analytical SEC, and related analytical techniques.
• Maintain laboratory reagents, equipment, inventory, and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS with 6+ years or MS with 2+ years of industry experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
• Experience with biochemical and/or biophysical assays in a drug discovery setting.
• Hands‑on experience with protein purification and characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with high‑throughput screening workflows and automated liquid handling is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, data quality, and scientific documentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Experience with recombinant protein expression in bacterial, mammalian, or insect systems.
• Knowledge of chromatography‑based purification methods and assay QC metrics.
• Experience supporting oncology, targeted protein modulation, peptide therapeutics, or related discovery programs.
