Job Overview:

SAPA Transmission, a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contractor, is seeking a Contract Associate to provide expertise in government and commercial contracts. Specifically, this position will be responsible for breaking down contract language from the US Government, and Prime contractors into practical steps for the SAPA Transmission Compliance office to follow. This role is also responsible for identifying any critical requirements identified in a contract to ensure they are highlighted and addressed. Although this role is not responsible for writing the contracts, this role is responsible for assisting with proposals and providing insight into customer requirements. As such, this role requires contract administration, ensuring compliance with regulations, and serve as a resource to the Compliance office throughout the contract lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Support government and commercial contract compliance efforts by assisting with adherence to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and company policies.
• Review, interpret, and provide guidance on contract documents, modifications, and task orders.
• Review contract deliverables, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations and coordinate with internal stakeholders to support timely completion of required actions.
• Support contract close-out activities, including audits, record retention, and post-award documentation.
• Support Program Management, Accounting, and other internal stakeholders on contractual obligations, risks, and compliance issues.
• Identify potential contract risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect the company and ensure compliance.
• Assist with maintaining contract files and records, including contract documents, modifications, and related correspondence.
• Stay current on changes to FAR, DFARS, ITAR, FMS requirements, and other applicable regulations impacting contract compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in government and/or commercial contract administration or grant writing preferably in the Department of Defense (DoD) sector.
• Familiarity of FAR, DFARS, ITAR and commercial contracting practices is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
