Job description

The WorkLACCD runs one of the largest community college building programs in the state, and every contract that program awards starts with a clean, defensible procurement. As a Contract Administrator III on the Project Management Office (PMO) Contracts Team, you own that process: you build and run the competitive bid and selection processes that put general contractors, design-build teams, architects, engineers, and inspectors under contract, from planning all the way through award.

This position is fully in the PMO office, with no remote or hybrid option per District policy. You prepare the procurement packages, addenda, evaluation materials, approval documentation, award documentation, and the contract documents themselves. You run several procurements at once for different stakeholders, and you keep every one of them tracked, reported, and audit-ready, because this work is under constant internal and external review. It is a detail-driven, compliance-heavy role with minimal administrative support, so your organization and accuracy carry it.

What You Will Own
  • Competitive bid and selection processes for construction and professional services, planning through award
  • Procurement documents, addenda, evaluation materials, approval and award documentation, and contract documents
  • Multiple concurrent procurements for different District, PMO, and college stakeholders
  • Reporting, tracking, and quality control on every procurement you run
  • Strict adherence to District policies, procedures, templates, and applicable law under regular audit
Requirements
What You Bring
  • 5 years of experience relevant to this work
  • A bachelor's degree, relevant field preferred (or 4 additional years of qualifying experience beyond the 5 in place of the degree)
  • Working knowledge of standard contract terms and conditions for design, construction, and related services
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word, and Adobe Acrobat
  • A reliable, responsive work ethic with the highest integrity, and the accuracy to hold up under audit
  • The ability to track and report status accurately across several projects running at once
Preferred
  • Higher education capital improvement projects
  • Knowledge of the California Public Contract Code and the California Community College Code
  • Electronic bidding software such as PlanetBids
  • Alternate project delivery methods such as Design-Build
  • Project management software such as Proliance or Trimble
Benefits
Compensation

Salary range: $115,000 to $126,000 per year, based on experience.

Benefits: health, dental, and vision at low cost; 401k; three weeks of PTO; and an ESOP (employee stock ownership) at no cost to you, with a 3% Safe Harbor contribution vested on day one.

Why MAAS

MAAS has spent nearly 40 years earning the trust of 50+ educational institutions across California, managing over $10B in projects. That track record means the work here is stable, funded, and consequential. You are not chasing the next contract.

As a MAAS employee, you are also an owner. The company is 100% employee-owned through an ESOP, a retirement benefit provided at no cost to you, on top of your salary. MAAS is a profitable, well-run organization and our share price has more than doubled since the plan's inception, with continued growth year over year. Your ownership stake builds the longer you stay, and ESOP participants nationally tend to accumulate 2.5x more in retirement savings than employees at non-ESOP companies.

In an industry not known for prioritizing culture, 96% of MAAS employees say it is a great place to work, and 100% say people genuinely care about each other.
