Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a high‑performing Contracts Administrator (Manager) in South Bend, Indiana to oversee end‑to‑end contract management for complex construction projects. Qualifications

  • Five plus years of experience in procurement and contract administration across a variety of projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Supply Chain or related technical field is required.
  • Strong understanding of contract requirements and RFP/RFI preparation.
  • Ability to build and sustain cross-functional supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Contract Strategy Documents with PM support.
  • Review and assist with Single Source Justification and Scope of Work documents.
  • Coordinate project-specific insurance requirements.
  • Establish negotiation plans and participate in negotiations.
  • Manage the RFP process, including evaluations and pre-bid meetings.
  • Process change orders, RFIs and submittals.
  • Help implement new contract process controls.
  • Regularly communicate procurement matters with the home office.
  • Produce accurate reports for project teams and clients.
  • Develop an advanced understanding of construction contracts.
  • Conduct price analysis and identify competitive benchmarks.

About the Role

We are seeking a high‑performing Contracts Administrator (Manager) to join our team in South Bend, Indiana and support the delivery of complex construction projects. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end contract management, spanning pre‑award support through post‑award execution and closeout. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial judgement, disciplined change control practices, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • With PM assistance, prepare Contract Strategy Documents
  • Review and assist with preparation of Single Source Justification
  • Review and assist with preparation of Scope of Work documents
  • Coordinate project-specific insurance requirements
  • Establish Negotiation Plans and conduct or participate in negotiations
  • Manage the RFP process, including commercial evaluations and pre-bid meetings
  • Process change orders, RFIs and submittals
  • Assist with, and when appropriate, implement new contract process controls
  • Communicate with the home office on a regular basis regarding Procurement matters
  • Produce and compile accurate reports for the project team, stakeholders and clients
  • Develop an advanced understanding of construction and related contract agreements
  • Conduct price analysis, modeling, purchase-price cost analysis and identify competitive benchmarks
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in Construction is desired.
  • Five plus years of experience in procurement and contract administration, working on a variety of projects
  • Mission critical experience is preferred
  • Strong understanding of contract requirements and the preparation of RFPs/RFIs
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to establish and build successful supplier relationships
  • Experience in planning, leading and structuring negotiations with both internal and external customers and suppliers to optimize value
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency and experience with various procurement methodologies and sourcing techniques
  • Ability to operate and execute effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and persuasion skills
  • Results-focused, with a proactive approach to workload
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Supply Chain or related technical field required.
  • 5+ years experience required.
