Job description

All Play, Inc., a leading playground equipment sales, construction, and installation company, is seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Contract Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and contract compliance. This role ensures accuracy, strong internal controls, and timely support across multiple departments.

Contract & Compliance Management
  • Manage client and organizational contracts to ensure accuracy, compliance with terms, and prompt AR follow‑up.
  • Coordinate with external insurance brokers, benefits administrators, and 401(k) service providers to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure financial processes follow GAAP, IRS, HIPAA, and municipal regulations.
  • Serve as a primary contact during audits and assist with internal control implementation.
Accounting & Financial Operations
  • Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping: AP, AR, general ledger, journal entries, and bank/credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, adjusting entries, and financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Process payroll and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Handle tax‑related tasks and filings; coordinate with external CPA on corporate returns and compliance.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations including state/federal filing requirements and reporting.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies or complex accounting issues related to contracts and financial transactions.
Process Improvement
  • Analyze accounting workflows to identify areas for improved efficiency and automation.
  • Support upgrades in accounting software and internal tools.
  • Additional tasks as required for the betterment of the team.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role; construction industry experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and the full accounting cycle.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience; supervisory experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A tolerance—if not affection—for dogs.
  • Northwest Houston office, weekday hours.
  • Medical, dental, vision, PTO, and 401(k).
