Qualifications

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Continuous Improvement Supervisor

The hourly wage / salary range for this position is $81,700 - $122,600

ROLE SUMMARY:

The CI Supervisor is responsible for identifying and improving the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and increase customer satisfaction. He/she also increases the critical mass of Lean practitioners at the site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility.
• Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
• Responsible for all job-related safety training for their work team.
• Implement and integrate the management systems that improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) through leveraging Gemba walks, 5S / visual management, Lean Daily Management, and improvement methodologies.
• Aligns Kaizen's work with the Lean Steering Committee, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and that the Kaizen Project Prioritization / Management process is adhered to.
• Facilitates / Leads Kaizen events required to improve performance– identify team members, prepare agendas, conduct training, creates and tracks countermeasures and actions.
• Fosters employee culture of learning organization.
• Develop capabilities in our workforce to run their own Kaizens.
• Organize and analyze data sets that outline systematic improvement opportunities and cost analysis to determine project feasibility.
• Run assessments to understand progress on the implementation of the iOpex program and define actions for improvement.
• Fairly and consistently adhere to all Company and Plant procedures, work rules and guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
• Familiar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principles.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 years of Lean/Continuous Improvement Experience preferred.
• 3-5 years previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced, regulatory manufacturing environment such as CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), food or pharmaceuticals preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization to understand and help address operational issues and sustainability efforts.
• Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc. to all levels of the organization.
• Excellent organizational/time management skills.
• Strong Functional/Technical Skills - ability to observe processes and develop dialogue with process owners to make improvements.
• Training in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation.
• Strong leadership abilities and skills as a team builder, coach, and mentor.
• Strong computer skills (SAP and MS Office Suite).
• Travel as required from time to time by the business.
• Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
• Strong problem-solving background.
