Job Summary

Sky Limit Systems is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manufacturing Project Manager – Continuous Improvement (CI) & Operational Excellence (OpEx) to lead strategic improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities nationwide. This role focuses on identifying bottlenecks, improving throughput, optimizing processes, and executing cost-saving projects that drive measurable impact.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing project management, process optimization, and data analysis, with expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Lead CI and OpEx projects to enhance efficiency, productivity, and manufacturing performance.
  • Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for process optimization.
  • Improve production flow, increase throughput, reduce cycle times, and enhance OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI tools to drive waste reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Implement standard work practices, line balancing, and performance tracking systems to sustain improvements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of manufacturing improvement projects, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership) to align project objectives with business goals.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to track project impact and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, uptime, and cost savings.
  • Ensure that projects align with company objectives for quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Mentor and train manufacturing teams on best practices in CI, Lean, and OpEx methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving engagement at all levels of the organization.
  • Develop training materials and conduct workshops to enhance process improvement capabilities among employees.
  • Identify and execute cost-reduction strategies while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including senior leadership and plant managers, to communicate project progress, challenges, and success stories.
  • Provide clear documentation and reporting on project objectives, methodologies, and results.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing project management, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), and process optimization.
  • Proven track record of executing high-impact projects that improve throughput, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Experience conducting time studies, process mapping, and workflow optimization.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools to drive insights and measure performance improvements.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide to various manufacturing sites as needed.
