Job description

Principal Accountabilities (summary)

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Continuous Improvement Process Engineer is responsible for leading, developing, and maintaining a work environment focused on continuous improvement, in collaboration with Production leadership. This role involves leading, co-implementing, and updating processes, procedures, and system improvements across production facilities to generate long-term benefits for the entire workforce. The methods employed include programs such as World Class Manufacturing (WCM), 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Quick Changeovers (SMED), Autonomous Maintenance, Problem Solving, and Value Stream Analysis to reduce waste and enhance productivity.

This position is key in delivering process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple plants, fostering a culture of sustainable change through WCM/LEAN methodologies and frameworks to achieve business transformation.

Position Requirements
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 5+ years of related manufacturing experience; or equivalent
Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years in continuous improvement, including project management and business analysis
  • Experience with WCM and Lean certification preferred
  • Leadership and training experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems
  • Experience in regulated industries and contract manufacturing preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in a global organization preferred
Performance Measures and Standards

Includes managing efforts to identify root causes, driving towards Zero downtime and Zero Defects, facilitating systematic problem-solving, performing time studies, supporting labor ROI analysis, leading or conducting safety, cost, quality, productivity, and value stream mapping studies, coordinating improvement projects, leading Kaizen events, and ensuring sustained results.

Training
  • Training production employees and change agents on WCM and CI tools
  • Developing and delivering training materials
  • Facilitating and mentoring CI teams
Reporting
  • Establishing measurement systems and KPIs
  • Participating in system evolution and customer partnership meetings
  • Leading Visual Factory initiatives and project proposals
  • Ensuring leadership standard work is current and best practices are followed
Other Duties
  • Providing leadership in internal communications and a positive work environment
  • Performing other duties as assigned within the area of expertise
